FIELD INSPECTOR

Description

The Field Inspector is responsible for carrying out all planned and unplanned inspection work on mobile equipment that is used by customers for production work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. By reporting the findings and results this contributes to the availability of production equipment of the customer and solve malfunctions in such a way that qualitative and quantitative standards can be met in line with our company and Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performing undercarriage inspection activities for condition monitoring of equipment identified as such, including:
• Visually inspect the condition and record it through photos and description;
• Carry out measurements on the various parts of the undercarriage according to established procedures;
• Monitor and record repair, maintenance and modification work performed on undercarriage of listed equipment based on work orders drawn up and information from the customer;
• Register and reporting technical data regarding the inspected equipment, recording the results.
• Carrying out inspections on Ground Engaging Tools (GET), including:
• Record all relevant technical information and specifications of installed G.E.T. e.g., Bucket-tips, adapters, end-bits, cutting-edges. (Blades, buckets, mold boards) on customer equipment;
• Carry out measurements and inspections of installed bucket tips;

• Register and report the measurement results and findings in the relevant computer systems

Education and/or Experience

• MBO diploma; NATIN/ AMTO (Mechanical Engineering) with one (1) year experience within a mining and/or Heavy Equipment operation.
• Experience with Heavy Equipment maintenance, Hydraulics and WTB installations.
• Experienced in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with data analyses.
• Must have knowledge of field inspections, G.E.T, CTS, Heavy Equipment Parts.
• Must have knowledge of Lock out/Tag out procedure.
• Must be familiar with applied mechanical techniques and mobile equipment.

Reporting structure

The Field Inspector reports to the Product Support & Sales Supervisor.

Work Schedule

• 45 hours per week from Monday to Friday.
• The base work location is at Surmac Paramaribo and the working hours are from 7:00 – 16:00.
• Availability required for work at the various Surmac locations and customer locations.
• Availability outside standard working hours, if required.
