TECHNICAL LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
Description
The Technical Learning & Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the organization in the continuous learning and development of its technical staff, by creating, monitoring and maintaining development plans, based on input from Service Supervisors and the Training Manager, and by serving as point of contact to advise the technical staff with regards to the progress and possible issues with their development plans.
Job Duties/ Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Collaborate with technical staff on training courses and training schedules;
· Monitor deadlines and progress to ensure timely start and delivery of training;
· Ensure certain requests and tasks are transferred to designated staff;
· Keep track of training schedules and make adjustments where necessary to prevent disruption of the Service Operations department;
· Keep records of student training according to SEC policies and procedures;
· Attend and support at training and staff meetings;
· Create, maintain and update development plans for Surmac technical staff, based on input from Service Supervisors and the Training Manager;
· Plan, schedule and coordinate Web Based Training (WBT) and Instructor Led Training (ILT) based on available resources (training rooms, PC’s, Trainers);
· Create, manage, close and invoice Training Department Service Calls in NAXT;
· Ensure timely closing and invoicing of Service Calls;
· Ensure progress in the development path of Surmac technical staff;
· Serve as an advisor towards Service Technicians and other technical staff to optimize progress in their individual development plans;
· Regularly communicate progress in the development plans to all stakeholders;
· Run and present reports and statistics to stakeholders concerning the progress of development plans;
· Organize training for non-technical staff upon request from the HR&D department;
· Train and support technical and non-technical personnel in the use of applicable digital learning platforms;
· Monitor and review metrics to ensure technical L&D efforts and results are efficiently and effectively meeting departmental goals and objectives;
· Create and share reports on a regular basis and on request to track learning progress and support the data requests within the organization;
· Monitor and update the training database to ensure effective reporting and tracking;
· Attend and support at training and staff meetings;
· Participate in quality-related projects
· Ensure employees and customers follow department policies;
· Represent Surmac at various job fairs, trade shows and local associated functions.
Education and/or Experience
· Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Education or other relevant field with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience.
· Technical background is an advantage.
· Experience with management and/or creation of training and development programs or curricula in technical fields, is an advantage.
· Knowledge of training principles and practices is an advantage.
· Experienced in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Reporting structure
The Technical Learning & Development Coordinator reports to the Training Manager.
Work Schedule
· The base work location is at Surmac Paramaribo and the working hours are from 7:00 – 16:00.
· Availability for work at various Surmac locations.
· Availability outside standard working hours, if required.
