MARKETING OFFICER
Description
The Marketing Officer is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customers and prospects to grow all lines of Surmac businesses. You will improve customer loyalty, attract and retaining new, active and inactive customers.
In addition, the Marketing Officer will be responsible for the company’s online marketing activities by strengthening Surmac’s digital presence and online engagement through structured digital marketing campaigns and lead generation activities, while also maintaining CRM lead data from online sources to contribute to the overall commercial objectives.
Job Duties/ Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Plan, execute and optimize digital campaigns through website, email marketing tools (Mailchimp), and social media platforms;
· Develop strategic content for social channels and other marketing materials in collaboration with the Marketing Manager and internal stakeholders;
· Create and manage paid advertising campaigns, including copywriting, creative briefing, placement, and performance monitoring;
· Coordinate and manage the collection, documentation and qualification of leads generated from different sources;
· Manage Surmac’s website content, user experience, updates and performance monitoring (in collaboration with our marketing data analyst);
· Track lead conversions, engagement rates, digital KPIs and campaign performance; report insights monthly (in collaboration with our marketing data analyst);
· Ensure brand consistency on all digital platforms in line with Caterpillar and Surmac guidelines;
· Maintain contact with external digital vendors, designers and campaign agencies to ensure service levels and branding compliance;
· Act as point of contact for internal departments regarding online content needs and digital marketing planning;
· Establish and maintain contact with (potential) clients/ customers; register and update customer contacts;
· Qualify assigned customers and prospects by telephone, email, or any other digital contact tool, uncovering business issues, timelines and opportunities for dealer solutions. Document them in the CRM system;
· Design an appropriate contact strategy (PAR) for each qualified prospect to maximize CAT and dealer opportunity participation;
· Call assigned customers at PAR to uncover business issues, timelines and opportunities for dealer solutions;
· Transfer leads to the appropriate salesperson in a timely and efficient manner and actively manage their opportunity funnel to maximize participation;
· Own and maintain customer contact information of assigned PAR based on Customer Qualification Index;
· Monitor and report all pertinent market information relative to competitive activity, customer information and product performance;
· Advise management on solution variants and improvement of the service;
· Identify opportunities and threats in the short and medium term and advise management.
Education and/or Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Business Administration, or a related field with 2–3 years of experience in digital marketing, content development, or lead generation.
· Experience with brand and campaign management on digital platforms.
· Experience working with CRM systems and online advertising tools.
· Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp.
· Experience with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop) is required.
· Comfortable working with web content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and social media scheduling tools (Sprout Social)
· Must have a solid understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEA, email, and social media
· Must have basic knowledge of digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite).
· Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or French is an advantage.
Reporting structure
The Marketing Officer reports to the Marketing Manager.
Work Schedule
· 45 hours per week from Monday to Friday.
· The base work location is at Surmac Paramaribo and the working hours are from 7:00 – 16:00.
· Availability for work at various Surmac locations.
· Availability outside standard working hours, if required.
